FiveM cheats are third-party programs that change what the FiveM client for Grand Theft Auto V does, so one player gets something the server never allowed: an aimbot, an ESP overlay that shows everyone through walls, godmode, or a script that spawns money and cars. FiveM is run by Cfx.re, the team Rockstar Games announced as "officially a part of Rockstar Games" on August 11, 2023, and Cfx.re says its automated anti-cheat bans the account behind outside programs caught injecting into the client.

That account ban covers every FiveM and RedM server at once. On top of it, each of the thousands of community servers runs its own checks and keeps its own ban list. In 2023 FiveM passed 300,000 concurrent players for the first time, by Cfx.re's count, and by August 2024 more than 20 million unique players had used FiveM or RedM.

Most of what ranks for "fivem cheats" is a seller video or a forum thread asking which menu is safe. None of them is. The bans are real, and the downloads cost people things long before any ban shows up.

What Are FiveM Cheats?

A FiveM cheat is any program or script that gives a player abilities the server did not grant, either by injecting code into the FiveM client or by sending the server requests it should never accept. FiveM is a modification framework for GTA V (the "M" stands for modifications, per Cfx.re's own FAQ), and every server sets its own rules, so the line between a mod and a cheat is drawn by the server and by Rockstar's terms, not by the player.

Rockstar's Terms of Service draw that line in writing. Section 6.3 bans "the use of cheats or so-called 'mod menus'", and FiveM's own license, the Creator Platform License Agreement at fivem.net/terms, pulls those terms in by reference. The current version is dated September 10, 2026 and names FiveM and RedM as Rockstar "Creator Services".

People searching for FiveM hacks usually mean one of these:

Cheat type What it does Usually caught by
Mod menu An in-game panel bundling many cheats Cfx.re client checks
Lua executor Runs injected scripts in the client Cfx.re, server event checks
Aimbot or triggerbot Aims or fires for the player Admins, kill logs, reports
ESP or wallhack Draws names and boxes through walls Cfx.re client checks
Godmode or noclip No damage, flying through the map Server-side checks, admins
Money and spawn exploits Fakes items, cash or vehicles Server-side validation

A FiveM cheat menu is the bundle most sellers push, since one panel switches the others on and off. Admin menus are a different thing: legitimate tools that server staff install for themselves.

How FiveM Cheats Work

FiveM cheats work in one of two places: inside the player's own client, or against the server's scripts. The split matters because each side gets caught in a different way.

Client-side cheats are injected into the FiveM process on the cheater's PC. An aimbot reads where other players are and moves the aim. An ESP draws that same data on screen. Executors go a step further and run new Lua code inside the client. Lua is the first scripting language FiveM lists for building server resources, next to C# and JavaScript. Sellers split their products into "internal" and "external" builds depending on how close to the game process they sit, but both are reading the same memory on the same PC.

Server-side abuse is the money and spawn crowd. FiveM resources talk to the server through events, and Cfx.re's server security guide warns owners plainly that "cheats can allow the client to trigger events in any context." If a server script pays out items or cash without checking who asked, a cheater can ask too. That is why Cfx.re tells developers to read money, inventory, position and permissions from the server side and never trust the numbers a client sends.

A FiveM aimbot and a FiveM money exploit are two different problems, then. One lives on the cheater's machine. The other is a hole in somebody's server code, and no client anti-cheat can patch that for them.

Does FiveM Have an Anti-Cheat?

Yes. FiveM has its own anti-cheat, run by Cfx.re, and it is not BattlEye or Easy Anti-Cheat. Cfx.re's ban FAQ describes "our automated anti-cheat system" that detects "violative external programs that attempt to inject information into the FiveM or RedM game clients." What the system scans for, and how, is something Cfx.re keeps to itself.

GTA Online is where people mix this up. Rockstar's own online mode on PC runs BattlEye's kernel driver, and the Steam pages for both editions of GTA V, Legacy and Enhanced, list BattlEye as the kernel-level anti-cheat they install. FiveM does not load BattlEye at all. It is also not one of the anti-cheats that work inside the Windows kernel the way Riot Vanguard does in Valorant, at least as far as anything Cfx.re has published.

Server owners add a second layer of FiveM anti-cheat on top. Many install a server-side anti-cheat resource, and txAdmin, the official FiveM server management panel, is in use on over 29,000 servers, according to its GitHub page. When people search "fivem anti cheat", most of the results are server owners shopping for that second layer.

How FiveM Cheaters Get Caught

FiveM cheaters get caught by three things working at once: Cfx.re's platform anti-cheat, the checks a server runs on its own scripts, and the people running the server.

Diagram of the three ways FiveM cheaters get caught: Cfx.re's global anti-cheat, server-side checks on money, items and position, and admins using txAdmin.

Cfx.re's Global Anti-Cheat

The Cfx.re anti-cheat looks for programs injecting into the client. When it finds one, the account linked to it is banned from FiveM and RedM, and every time that account tries to join a server it gets a message saying it is globally banned and how long the ban lasts. Cfx.re says the system "has been rigorously tested to ensure a limited number of false positives" and tells anyone who thinks the ban is wrong to check what else was running next to the game, then file an appeal.

Cfx.re also runs a form for reporting cheats that seem to slip past it, and asks for the actual files. Whatever works today can be in Cfx.re's inbox tomorrow. Cfx.re's server security page admits the other half of that too: the anti-cheat team keeps improving it, "but sometimes things slip through." Neither statement is a promise in either direction.

Server-Side Checks and txAdmin

FiveM servers catch what slips past the client checks by watching results instead of programs. A player whose bank balance jumps, who teleports across Los Santos or who triggers a payout event from the wrong spot leaves a trace in the server's own data, whatever tool did it. txAdmin keeps a player database with warnings, notes and temporary or permanent bans, and logs connections, kills, chat and explosions for staff to review.

Admins and Player Reports

Roleplay servers are run by their own staff. An aimbot that lands every shot gets reported by the people it lands on, and admins can spectate or freeze a player in txAdmin before deciding. No signature scan is needed for a ban from that server.

What a FiveM Ban Hits

A FiveM ban hits one of three things, depending on who issued it: the Cfx.re account (a global ban), a single server community (a server ban), or, in a separate system, the Rockstar account that plays GTA Online.

Ban Issued by Tied to
Global ban Cfx.re's anti-cheat The linked account
Server ban Server admins or txAdmin IDs the server stores
GTA Online ban Rockstar The Rockstar account

A global ban is Cfx.re's call, and appeals go through Cfx.re's ban appeal form. Cfx.re says it does not handle server bans at all: its client docs tell players who think a server banned them unfairly to "contact the server owners", because FiveM "cannot and will not provide support for this matter." Each server decides how long its bans last and whether it takes appeals.

Server bans are built on identifiers. Cfx.re's scripting docs list the ones a server can read for every player: license and license2 (Rockstar Online Services), steam, discord, fivem (the Cfx.re account) and ip. Servers can also read player tokens, which Cfx.re describes as a way to "enhance banning logic" that is "specific to a server". txAdmin has stored what its docs call "hardware ID tokens" alongside its bans since version 6.0.

What each FiveM ban is tied to: a global ban to the Cfx.re account, a server ban to the IDs that server stores, and a GTA Online ban to the Rockstar account.

So a new Steam or Discord account often does not get a banned player back into the same server. The server matches whatever identifiers it saved, and some of them belong to the PC rather than to an account.

The Risks Beyond a Ban

The risks of FiveM cheats start before any ban, with the download itself. Cheat files ask for what malware wants: administrator rights, an antivirus exception and a reason to ignore warnings.

  • A file named FivemCheat.exe, run in the ANY.RUN sandbox on March 25, 2025, came back as Blank Grabber, a Python infostealer built to take browser logins, crypto wallets, Telegram sessions and Discord tokens.
  • A stolen Discord token logs in as you without a password. FiveM communities organize on Discord, so a stolen token can cost you the server and the friends on it.
  • Weekly keys, "unban services" and resellers who vanish after payment are common, and a cheat purchase leaves you little to fall back on when it goes wrong.
  • On a roleplay server, a ban ends the character, the job and the months of story that came with it.
  • Rockstar's terms let it terminate access to its services, and FiveM now sits under those terms.

The token theft is the one people shrug off, and it is the one that hurts longest, because it does not stop at FiveM. Any FiveM cheat sold as safe is making a claim its seller cannot check. Cfx.re does not publish its detection rules, and the people buying the cheat are the ones who find out when they changed.

When a FiveM Ban Follows Your PC

A FiveM ban follows your PC when it is tied to hardware identifiers instead of only an account. Cfx.re describes global bans as account bans and does not list the identifiers behind them, so any claim about which parts of a machine a global ban checks is a guess. Server bans are clearer: txAdmin can save hardware ID tokens with a ban, and those stay the same when you make a new account. They work much like hardware ID bans in other games, where the block sits on the computer instead of the sign-in.

Cfx.re does not publish how a token is built, but txAdmin's own docs call them hardware ID tokens, which puts them in the same family as the serial numbers a Windows PC reports for its disk, motherboard and network adapter. Reinstalling FiveM or Windows changes none of that hardware.

What an HWID spoofer clears after a FiveM ban: the PC's hardware IDs are cleared, while banned accounts and a server's own admin-list ban stay.

Saturn is not a cheat. It spoofs the hardware IDs of a Windows PC, and it does not hide a menu, change what Cfx.re's anti-cheat sees, or make any cheat safe to run.

Its job starts after a ban: when that ban is attached to the PC's hardware, Saturn clears it on the machine by changing the IDs it was tied to. The list covers the processor, the TPM, motherboard and SMBIOS data, RAM serials, every NVMe, SSD or HDD drive, the GPU and the EDID your monitor sends. Network MAC addresses, USB devices and the variables stored in UEFI firmware are on it too, and so are dozens of smaller IDs no other machine shares. The details of how a spoofer replaces those serials are the same for every game.

FiveM is not sold as a separate product. Saturn's FiveM spoofer comes inside its BattlEye license, the same one that covers GTA V, Rainbow Six Siege, Escape from Tarkov and the rest of Saturn's BattlEye list, all run from one loader. The bundle is a sales decision. FiveM itself never runs BattlEye.

The choice between Saturn's temporary and permanent modes decides how long the new IDs last. In temporary mode the ban stays cleared for as long as Saturn runs, you get unlimited profiles, and shutting Saturn down brings the old, banned IDs back. In permanent mode Saturn rewrites the hardware IDs one time and the PC stays clean afterward; that mode runs on one HWID profile, and if that profile is ever banned, the fix is to buy another.

Some FiveM bans stay no matter what the hardware reports. Saturn cannot restore a banned Cfx.re, Rockstar, Steam or Discord account, and it does not reverse a ban a server keeps on its own admin list. Rockstar's terms, which FiveM's license includes, also list "circumventing" access controls and technical protective measures among the things players agree not to do, so going back onto a server that banned you is your own decision, with that risk attached. Anyone who wants to test it first can use the 24-hour free trial: an email address is required, a payment card is not.

FiveM Cheats FAQ

Can you get banned from FiveM for cheating?

Yes. Cfx.re's automated anti-cheat bans the account linked to a detected cheat from every FiveM and RedM server, and the ban message shows how long it lasts. Any server can also ban you itself, through its admins or txAdmin, and Cfx.re does not review those bans.

Is there a free cheat for FiveM?

Free FiveM cheats exist, and they are the riskiest kind to run. A file called FivemCheat.exe, tested on ANY.RUN in March 2025, turned out to be the Blank Grabber infostealer, which takes saved passwords, crypto wallets and Discord tokens. A free cheat that does work still carries the same ban risk as a paid one.

What is the best FiveM cheat menu?

No FiveM cheat menu is safe to recommend. Rockstar's terms name mod menus as a violation, Cfx.re asks players to send in cheat files they think it misses so it can add detections, and the menus traded for free are a common route for infostealers onto a PC.

Does FiveM use BattlEye?

No. FiveM relies on the anti-cheat Cfx.re built for it, plus whatever each server adds. BattlEye protects Rockstar's GTA Online on PC, which is a separate mode with separate enforcement.

Does a FiveM ban carry over to GTA Online?

Cfx.re's ban FAQ says a global ban covers FiveM and RedM and says nothing about GTA Online, which Rockstar enforces with BattlEye and its own account sanctions. The FAQ on fivem.net also says FiveM only contacts Rockstar's online services to validate your copy of GTA V the first time you launch it. Cheating can still put a Rockstar account at risk under Rockstar's terms.

Can an HWID spoofer remove a FiveM ban?

An HWID spoofer can clear the part of a FiveM ban that is tied to your PC's hardware IDs. It cannot lift a ban on a Cfx.re, Rockstar, Steam or Discord account, and it does not change a decision a server's staff made about you.
