Enabling TPM 2.0

Follow these steps to enable TPM 2.0 in your BIOS settings

Important Note

  • - Save any open work before proceeding
  • - Each motherboard manufacturer has slightly different BIOS layouts
  • - You'll need to restart your computer to access BIOS settings

Intel Systems

Steps:

  1. Enter BIOS (usually by pressing Del or F2 during startup)
  2. Navigate to Advanced > Trusted Computing
  3. Set "Security Device Support" to [Enable]
  4. Save changes and exit (usually F10)

AMD Systems

Steps:

  1. Enter BIOS at startup
  2. Navigate to Advanced > TPM/FPT
  3. Set "TPM/FPT" to [Enable]
  4. Make sure "Enable Discrete TPM/FPT" is selected
  5. Save and exit BIOS

Alternate BIOS Locations

If you can't find the TPM settings, check these common locations:

  • Security > Trusted Platform Module
  • Advanced > CPU Configuration > TPM Device
  • Security Settings > TPM Configuration
  • Advanced > Platform Security
