Duping in Arc Raiders is a bannable offense. Embark Studios lists "exploiting bugs or glitches for unfair advantage" as a ban reason in its Ban and Enforcement Policy, and it has acted on that twice at scale. After the duplication exploits of February 2026, Embark issued warnings, removed Coins tied to the exploit and suspended the worst offenders. It did the same after a second duplication fix in July 2026 (Store Update 1.37.0), this time removing items as well as Coins.
The penalty depends on how much you duped and whether you meant to. A player who picked up a few duped items is in a very different spot from one who flooded the market with copies, and Embark's own notes treat them differently. The door glitch and real-money trading follow their own rules, and an HWID spoofer barely comes into it. None of what follows explains how any exploit worked.
Can You Get Banned for Duping in Arc Raiders?
Yes, duping can get your Arc Raiders account banned. Two ban reasons in Embark's policy cover duping and what players do with duped loot: exploiting bugs or glitches for unfair advantage, and selling or swapping in-game items for real money or any other kind of payment. Either can lead to a temporary or permanent ban on your Embark account.
In practice, Embark has not banned every duper on sight. Its two big exploit responses used a sliding scale instead:
- Warnings for low-severity cases where abuse was limited.
- Removal of Coins (and, in July 2026, items) tied to the exploit.
- Suspensions for severe cases, where duping hurt the in-game economy or other players' games.
So for a small, one-off case, the documented outcome is a warning and the loss of whatever the dupe produced. Repeated or large-scale duping is where suspensions land.

What Embark Did About the Duplication Glitch
Embark Studios treated the Arc Raiders duplication glitch as an investigation first and an enforcement job second. In both February and July 2026 the studio checked who did what before sanctioning anyone, so penalties arrived days after the problem surfaced rather than at once.
The February Review Before Any Bans
In February 2026, Embark published An Update on Recent Exploits and Corrective Actions. The post admits the exploits "stemmed from a design flaw on our part" and says Embark would act only on what it could "define, prove, and stand behind." Before sanctioning anyone, the team:
- Validated player reports against game data.
- Confirmed exploit usage, scope and effect.
- Separated accidental or edge-case behavior from repeated, intentional abuse.
- Assessed the measurable impact on the economy and competitive integrity.
Embark said penalties would be weighed on four factors: severity, intent, frequency and impact. It called this the first incident of its kind at that scale in Arc Raiders, and said it had already improved its detection, tracking and internal review tools.
The July Fix and a Second Round of Sanctions
Arc Raiders had another duplication problem in July 2026. Hotfix 1.36.1 shipped to "mitigate a duplication issue," and the patch note added that Embark would keep issuing bans on accounts that had gained a significant advantage. Days later, Store Update 1.37.0 confirmed the bans were going out "similarly to how we handled it in February," with one change: Embark now removed items tied to exploit activity, not only Coins.
Smaller duplication fixes show up in other patch notes too, including Hotfix 1.23.1 and Hotfix 1.25.0 in April 2026 and Store Update 1.34.0 in June 2026. By August 2026, Embark was grouping these cases as "economy exploits" and said it could now detect and sanction the accounts involved more quickly.
What Happens to Duped Coins and Items
Duped loot in Arc Raiders gets clawed back. Both of Embark's exploit statements list removal of Coins tied to exploit activity, and the July 2026 one adds items. The removal is targeted. None of Embark's exploit statements announce a reset of every player's stash; they describe taking back what was tied to the exploit.
A few related rules matter if your account is the one being sanctioned:
- A banned account cannot move its items or progress to a new account. Embark's policy says banned accounts are not eligible for any transfer.
- In-game purchases are not refunded on an account banned for breaking the rules.
- If you play through Steam Family Sharing, enforcement on the shared license can affect every account using it.
Does the Door Glitch Get You Banned?
Embark answered the Arc Raiders door glitch with a fix inside the game, and its patch notes on it say nothing about bans. Patch Notes 1.4.0, from November 2025, added "exploit mitigation mechanisms" to all locked rooms across all maps and blocked off the outside route into Spaceport's Control Tower locked room. Embark called it "a very hot fix," and players reported that entering a locked room without the key now sets off fire inside it. Fire around locked rooms is part of Embark's own notes too: Patch Notes 1.23.0 in April 2026 fixed a case where players were set on fire outside the Medical Research locked room on Stella Montis.
That makes the door glitch a different case from duping. In the patch notes the map itself does the punishing, which is blunter than a ban and far more visible. The policy still applies, though: getting past a locked door for loot you could not reach legitimately is exploiting a glitch for an advantage, and that is one of the ban reasons Embark spells out. A new door trick is still a gamble with your account.
RMT, Item Transfers and Other Exploit Bans
Real-money trading (RMT) is a ban reason in Arc Raiders. Embark's policy accepts that players can drop gear for each other during a raid, but forbids exchanging that gear for money or anything else worth something, and forbids selling accounts outright. In September 2026, Embark said it was still "sanctioning abnormally high-value item transfers" and had already banned "bot-like" economy accounts in more than one wave.
| Behavior | What Embark documents | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Duping on purpose | Exploit rule; February and July sanctions | Warning, Coin and item removal, suspension |
| Picking up duped items | Store Update 1.37.0 | Possible warning |
| Door glitch | Patch Notes 1.4.0 | Room mitigation, no ban notice |
| RMT or account sales | Ban and Enforcement Policy | Ban |
| Bot-like farming | Store Update 1.47.0 | Ban waves |

How Long a Duping Ban Lasts
Embark has not published a fixed length for a duping ban in Arc Raiders. Its exploit statements size the penalty by severity, intent, frequency and impact, so a low-impact case ends at a warning and a severe one ends in a suspension. Neither statement gives the suspension a set number of days.
Cheating is handled on a different track. Under Embark's ban system for cheat software, the studio said in September 2026 that any account caught using cheats is permanently banned, with no warning first. Embark's notes from February 2026 also said strong detections of rule breaking can bring a permanent ban right away, while weaker detections lead to a time-limited suspension and a single warning shot. Duping with the help of cheat software also falls under that track, because Embark's policy lists cheats, hacks and third-party tools as a ban reason of their own.
Does a Spoofer Help After a Duping Ban?
No, a spoofer does not undo a duping ban. A duping sanction sits on your Embark account, on Embark's servers, and no tool on your PC changes that. Knowing what a spoofer changes on a PC makes the limit clear: it presents different hardware identifiers to the game, which has nothing to do with a flag stored against your login.
An Arc Raiders hardware ban is a separate sanction. Embark's help center says it may issue one when an offense is severe enough, and that it ties the block to the PC rather than to the Embark account. Embark's exploit statements list warnings, removals and suspensions, not bans that follow the PC.
The spoofer question only applies in one situation: your machine itself is blocked and you start again on a new Embark account with its own copy of the game. There, an HWID spoofer for Arc Raiders such as Saturn clears that HWID ban on your machine. Saturn has two spoofing modes. A temporary profile only lasts while the program is open, so the banned IDs come back once you close it; a permanent profile rewrites those IDs on the PC and stays that way. It does not restore the banned account, its stash or its progress, and a new account still has to follow the same rules.

FAQ
Can you get banned for picking up duped items?
Not for that alone, going by what Embark has said. In July 2026, Embark wrote that players who only received a few items from someone who was duping, without knowingly exploiting the glitch, may receive a warning. Suspensions were kept for players who significantly and deliberately abused it.
Does Embark wipe duped items in Arc Raiders?
Embark removes duped gains rather than wiping whole stashes. Its February 2026 statement listed removal of Coins tied to exploit activity, and its July 2026 statement listed removal of Coins and items.
Is RMT bannable in Arc Raiders?
Yes. Embark's Ban and Enforcement Policy prohibits trading in-game items for real money or anything else of value, and selling accounts. Both can get the account banned.
Does the Arc Raiders door glitch get you banned?
Embark's notes on it announce a fix, not bans. Patch Notes 1.4.0 added exploit mitigation to every locked room, and players report fire inside rooms entered without a key. Exploiting a glitch for advantage is still a listed ban reason.
Can you appeal a duping ban?
Yes, if you think the sanction is wrong. Sign in to Embark's support page with your Embark ID to appeal to Embark; the studio says a person on its team reviews every appeal by hand.
Will a new account get around a duping ban?
Not cleanly. Embark said in September 2026 that it restricts any game license connected to a sanction from being used on another account, and permanently bans accounts that were ever associated with a banned license. A fresh start usually means a fresh license as well, under the same rules.
